• Red Rock Power to host supplier engagement events in May ahead of onsite works commencing this summer
  • Wind farm to maximise opportunity for local supply chain and green economic recovery

The Benbrack wind farm project is to host two ‘meet the developer’ events next month in Dalmellington and St John’s Town of Dalry. Red Rock Power, along with the development’s tier one suppliers, will outline potential opportunities available to the local supply chain and calls on businesses to express their interest.

Events will be held in person and online on the following days:

  • St John’s Town of Dalry – Wednesday 4th May, 2pm – 7pm at the Dalry Town Hall
  • Dalmellington – Thursday 5th May, 11am-4pm at The Eglinton Hotel
  • Online – Tuesday 10th May – 11am-12pm – register here.

The wind farm, located 6km from Carsphairn, is preparing for the start of onsite works which are anticipated to commence in July 2022. The local events, as well as a third online, will enable local businesses to gain greater insights into the project and its construction timelines, forthcoming opportunities and how to navigate the procurement process. Benbrack’s Balance of Plant (which includes supporting infrastructure and auxiliary systems) and Turbine contractors, both yet to be announced, will also be in attendance to discuss their procurement needs.

Jamie Grant, Benbrack Project Director, said: “The southwest of Scotland is a renewable energy powerhouse and it is crucial that this vision and projects like Benbrack deliver real opportunities for the local economy. Our tier one suppliers will be procuring a variety of services such as electrical and building contractors, local plant hire, fencing, catering and accommodation among others. We look forward to assisting local businesses and sharing insights into working on Benbrack Wind Farm, including those who may be considering a move into the wind energy sector.”
